The Driver

Starting in go-karts at the age of ten, Spencer climbed the motorsports ladder to the pinnacle of open-wheel and sports car racing in America. Along the way he won races and championships at every level. After winning the Indy Lights championship in 2015 he accomplished his goal of competing in the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 in 2016. He went on to compete in five Indy 500’s, qualifying on the front row in 2019. His IndyCar career spanned five seasons with a podium finish at Iowa Speedway in 2018 and 15 top-ten finishes.

In addition to IndyCar, Spencer competed in the IMSA Sports Car Championship from 2017-2021 racking up wins and podium finishes in DPi, LMP2, LMP3 and GT4 categories. Driving for the Factory Mazda Team Joest in the premier prototype class, DPi, he finished on the podium in the Six Hours of Watkins Glen and Petit Le Mans. Spencer was part of the winning team in the 2021 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in the LMP3 class.

The Coach

Spencer is now known as one of the top driver coaches in North America. He has worked with drivers in the NTT IndyCar Series, Indy NXT, USF2000 and various sports car series. Over the past few years his main focus has been with ABEL Motorsports in the Indy NXT Series helping drivers win races, fight for championships and climb to new heights in their motorsports career.

Based in Tampa, FL, Spencer is available for private driver coaching for individuals or race teams throughout the country. Spencer draws on his vast experience driving and winning at the highest levels in various types of race cars to help his drivers perform at their best. His passion for driving and competing has not stopped since the end of his full time driving career. He now spends his time at the race track working alongside drivers to accomplish their goals.
